It was a mild day on Monroe Lake (near East Stroudsburg, PA). Temps were in the upper 30's with a good portion of sun. The snow was a little choppy and slushy on the lake, but that offered the best conditions since snowfall there has been very limited this winter. The open space on the lake enabled full-throttle operation.... I only pushed my sled to 80 and was the slowest one out there! We had 5 riders and 7 sleds and even picked up a guest rider on an off day from a Manhattan job. He got to take a few laps on one of the spare sleds.
