Hillary's Soprano's Ad

It was just like her political campaign and career: NO MATERIAL! Fade to black before communicating anything of substance. Did she spend more time w/ Bill during the taping then in say, 6 months?

Now she's on the record stating that we need to leave Iraq now. She was on the record 5 years ago with HER OWN independent research that we needed to remove Sadaam, starting during her time as FLOTUS, before GWB had an interest in anything other than booze, oil, and baseball. Do a search on YouTube for Hillary talking to the Code Pink group to check it out. It's a good thing that SHE or today's Congress wasn't around in 1949 (four years after WW II ended) to pull the plug on the BERLIN AIR LIFT! Europe might be speaking Russian now instead of a half-dozen different languages!

What will it take for our newsmedia to not follow her around like a bunch of rock star groupies? Oh wait, check out this MSNBC article:

Gotta love FULL DISCLOSURE! Now, if only the UNBIASED, OBJECTIVE news media will do their JOURNALISTIC DUTY that they claim they follow after leaving J-school ;)

Substance or not, I'm succumbing to increasing amounts of pessimism about the next presidential cycle. I know it's early, but the way the media controls popular perceptions of Iraq, etc. I just can't shake the foreboding that I have.

As VDH notes, much of the advantage that Hillary & Co. have is the sheer audacity of their claims. He writes: "The advantage though right now is with Clinton. Why? Not the issues or even Iraq. But because no candidate has a more ruthless, cutthroat, and no-holds-barred phalanx than what she inherited from her loutish, but cold-hearted husband. In this regard, I remember the serial appearances of James Carville on the Sunday new shows during the Monica affair. Ad nauseam he went off on federal prosecutor Ken Starr as a “cigarette lawyer”, which by any standard of public defamation should have constituted a sort of obstruction of justice, a calculated effort to destroy a federal official to ensure he could not carry out his assigned tasks. Imagine again, had Tony Snow daily attacked Prosecutor Fitzgerald and impugned his integrity, the response from the media. No, the Clintoni will do any and all to win. They have had eight years of experience in the White House, and have proven already that they can take a philandering dissolute, who used his “power” to impress a paid subordinate for sexual favors, and turn him into a raging feminist and victim of dark forces of illiberality. That took skill and audacity, and so did dropping Hillary’s billing records on the floor (“oops” there they are!), etc. Shamelessness, as Aristophanes saw with Kleon, is not to be underestimated."
